Every ride is not created equal. Some stand far above the others - rides that will forever live on in memory and tales. Today was one of those special ones. I had the chance to do something I never thought I’d do: ride 9 hours, 215k (135mi), and climb 5100m (17000ft). I know it’s not that crazy, but for me, it broke down a lot of walls, showed me a new horizon of possibilities, and most of all, it was fun. At its most basic, I got to ride with a good friend through the Dolomites, talking, laughing, sharing in the unique pain of a ride that was insane, for all intents and purposes, beyond us. It was a privilege today, Steve. Thanks for getting me out there, thanks for challenging me, and thanks for the day. I will never forget it.
